Reebok and Crossover Promotions, LLC are teaming up to present the 2nd Annual High School Basketball Christmas Showcase in Hampton, VA on December 29 and 30th. Former Bethel High School standout and Naismith Hall of Famer Allen Iverson will be the official event host.
“It feels good to have had a successful event last year for the high school kids in the community and l’m looking forward to having an even better event this year” says Iverson.
There are three key relationships to Allen’s high school days that make the showcase more intriguing. Allen and Tony Rutland, now Head Coach of Hampton Christian Academy, were both stars of the Bethel High State Championship team in 1992. Allen and Mike Evans, Head Coach of Granby High School, were two of the best players from the Peninsula and Eastern District who would play against each other many times in high school and the summer league games. And Allen and Eric Brown, Head Coach of Hampton High School, were both members of the Aberdeen Raiders Youth Football team coached by Allen’s long time mentor and manager, Gary Moore.
This showcase will highlight some of the best high school basketball teams from Hampton Roads and Richmond. The teams participating in this year’s showcase include defending state champion- IC Norcom, along with Ocean Lakes, Bethel, Hampton, Phoebus, Menchville, Woodside, Warwick, Granby, LC Bird (Richmond), Jamestown, Williamsburg Christian and Hampton Christian.
Following Thursday night’s games there will be a teen after party held to allow the youth to socialize with one another in a positive environment. The after party is free of charge for all high school youth and will be hosted by local DJ standpoint-Izzy the DJ.

Ticket prices for game are$10 per day for adults and $5 per day for students with ID. Two-Day Pass are also available for $16.
